Las Olas Marina

Overcast and windy
DAY 23 – December 11th 2012 – Sands Marina – Pompano – Florida
At last arrived back on Moma Cal, Doug, Bev and Bob met me at the airport. When we arrived at the marina I could see this mast and life lines covered in Xmas Lights and it was Moma Cal all lit up. I was so excited to see this as I had planned on buying a few strands but Doug had already put them up. Thank you so much Doug it was really one of my biggest treats. While we all had a cocktail in the cockpit Donna and Jack who had just arrived at the marina, came over to say hi. Glad to be back cruising.
DAY 24 – December 12th 2012 – Sands Marina – Pompano – Florida –
Good night’s sleep and up with the sun and coffee. Today Bob picked us up along with Donna and we did a huge shop. No one believed it when I said I will store it but I did, all put away in an hour. Dinner with Bev and Bob and home to Moma all lit up like a Xmas tree.
DAY 25 – December 13th 2012 – Las Olas Marina – Fort Lauderdale –

Left Pompano about 10am, travelling with Kathrian, we thought about staying at Cooley’s Landing on the New River but once we had arrived there we found out we could not stay on the Saturday night because of the Xmas Boat Parade. Lee came over for a visit and then we did an about turn and headed back to the Las Olas Marina and took a mooring ball, a good choice, now we are positioned well to watch the parade on the 15th. The weather is not good for a crossing to the Bahamas anytime soon so this is where we will stay for a few days.
