Las Olas Marina

17 December 2012 | Fort Lauderdale
Warm, Windy and overcast
DAY 25 - December 13th 2012 - Las Olas Marina - Fort Lauderdale
Settle into normal boat chores and catching up on laundry and internet. Walk to the beach early evening with Donna and Jack and enjoyed some appetizers and huge margaritas.

DAY 26 - December 14th 2012 - Las Olas Marina - Fort Lauderdale
It is good to be swinging on a mooring ball, much nicer than being tied to a dock other than the power situation. We decided to catch the Jungle Queen Dinner Cruise to-night with Donna and Jack and to enjoy the Xmas lights on the New River. A late night, we are getting back into the early to bed, early to rise syndrome and are pretty tired.

DAY 27 - December 15th 2012- Las Olas Marina - Fort Lauderdale
Fort Lauderdale Xmas Boat Parade, all aboard before the sun goes down. Bev, Bob, Tina, Lee, Donna and Jack and of course LeeLui and Pinot ready with our Xmas lights twinkling as the sun goes down. Jack was able to inform the people sitting on the shore when the next boats were coming so that they were able to hoot and holla and show their appreciation as the many beautiful boats sailed by. One barge was even a huge Alligator Jaw, the show went on for a couple of hours and then that was it. A good evening, Doug and Jack took all our guests ashore and off to bed we go.

DAY 28 - December 16th 2012- Las Olas Marina - Fort Lauderdale
Doug and I walked to the beach and had a coffee and enjoyed a little "people watching". We made a visit to the Williams home for snacks and Lee showed us a set of Davits from InSync which Doug bought.

DAY 29 - December 17th 2012- Las Olas Marina - Fort Lauderdale
Davits arrived and installed thanks to Jack and Lee while I worked below. We moved to Lake Sylvia this evening so that we can be up and off early in the morning, had a lovely evening with Tina and Lee, back to dinghy with lots of last minute provisions. Dinghy was bought up onto the new davits and was very happy for the rest as she has traveled a long way.
