DAY 39 - December 27th 2012- Nassau -

Yesterday we had a great time at the pool; we had noticed a sign on the dock saying The Tikki Bar will be open at 5pm and yes it was, run by two young girls from New Jersey using Dad's booze. We chatted to him and they had had a cottage on the island for 20 years, they visited twice a year for two weeks and this is what the girls did, open a bar. I wonder what the work permit rules are????. Mum eventually arrived and then went and prepared a delicious plate of Sushi, Tuna and some other white fish. Wowee was it ever good, an enjoyable way to watch the sunset.
Today the wind has died down and now coming from the east so we decided to leave, I was a bit apprehensive as our last crossing to Nassau was one our most awful trips. We headed out of Chub at 08.30, put out the Jenny and motor sailed all the way, no problem a bit rolly but OK. We arrived at 15.00 and anchored outside the Green Parrot, we were shocked to see all these new docks being built, three piers and a very long new wall outside the Parrot. Donna and Jack had to go to the Marine shop to pick up a part so we said that we will meet them at the Poop Deck for supper. We took the dinghy ride round the ships and under the bridges. It is always rough round here but as we entered the marina an idiot who was entering in front of us did not slow down and I got soaked. And then we found out that Pinot was not allowed on the Poop Deck, ?????. So back to the Parrot where we had to navigate this rickety old ladder and climb ashore. But it was worth it, chicken fingers and an onion blossom was the order of the day. Doug disappeared and is on a mission to make the ladder at the dock easier to navigate, which he did.
