DAY 48 – February 13th 2014 – SaltPond Bay
A quick 20 min motor round into SaltPond Bay, I am so lucky to be here, I cannot tell you how blessed I feel but at the same time it is very stressful for me staying in contact with work, especially when we are in these off the beaten track bays without internet. I always have emails and internet on my phone and but there are some parts of my job that I have to have internet on my computer. Lo and behold Doug found internet and I was able to connect and get some work completed. By noon the water was calling, oh no it was Jack calling saying “snorkeling time”. In I jump and off we go to check out the snorkeling here. Well again it was great; I suppose being in a National Park the fish feel safe. Well that is what I think, they say let’s live here we shall be protected, very smart I say. Today I saw many more fish I had not seen before, a cute baby turtle, some very fancy Squids, a three or four foot eel that was black with spots on it and we think we saw a couple of Lion Fish which were just lying on the coral. Once the swimming was over Jack and I trekked to Rams Head Point, a good three miles up and down rocks and eventually up to the point, what a great view over Norman Island to the East and St. Thomas to the West. While enjoying the view, up came this little slip of a girl who had jogged up, well she said she walked up the rocky parts but jogged when she could. Going back always seems shorter, I was very hot when I got back so another dip was in order and then I sat in the cockpit updating my blog, another great day.
