DAY 79 - March 16th 2014 - Grand Case - St. Marten
Kathrian left today to head back to Cole Harbour but we are in no hurry to go back yet. Hung around on board most of the day working or reading then headed ashore to take Pinot for a walk, so much quieter today. We picked up a few groceries and then home for a movie night and dinner on board.
DAY 80 - March 17th 2014 - Orient Beach - St. Marten - 18 05.225N:063 00.850W
Did not want to leave Grand Case, what a lovely anchorage but it was time to move on, before rounding the north tip of the island we headed into Anse Marcel to fill up with water, another lovely anchorage with a narrow channel into the marina, I tried to call on the radio and no luck so we just went on in and tied up, no problem. This marina does not have diesel anymore but was OK with us filling up our water tanks. We arrived at Orient Beach by noon and decided to head ashore but not sure where to take the dinghy, there are not many boats anchored here. So we head to the far left of the beach and found that it was the "clothing optional" resort but they were happy for us to leave dinghy there, this is the quietest part of the beach for waves that is. We wandered through the resort and then along the beach to Good Time Charlies bar, grabbed a drink and continued walking, turned around and met four St Patty fans covered in green wigs and accessories, I had to take a picture; they were having so much fun. Back on the boat we find the anchorage very rolly so we decided only to stay one night and the Auto Pilot is still playing up so we shall head back to Cole Bay tomorrow.
