DAY 87 - March 24th 2014 - Il Panel - St. Marten - 18 06.385N:063 01.096W
Headed back toward the main island after being told off for anchoring in the sea grass this morning, we were told we should have taken a mooring ball but there were none available when we got there yesterday. A lovely day, the sea was so beautiful, we motored around Il Panel another place that D & J had told us about and thought we should take a ball and headed off across the sandy inlet which our charts were saying was 10 feet and bang we hit the bottom and stop, no problem we have hit sand before and have been able to get off but the sea bed here was like little banks of sand and then deeper valleys. It took us a while to get through with Jacks help pulling us over to the port side, we quickly grabbed a mooring ball and poured a drink to calm our nerves. Il Panel is another gorgeous island, each one is better than the rest this trip. The sand here is like powder and the water is so clear and of course blue as the sky. Lunch ashore and then back on Moma with Donna and Jack to watch the sun go down, another lovely day it is hard to think that soon we have to head home and back to Ottawa.
