Lots More Rain

12 November 2020 | Carolina Beach NC

Radar Image, We are the little blue circle near one of the yellow blobs.

November 12, 2020 Thursday

We put the tarps up on the deck to allow the hatches and ports to be open when it rains but today the rain was so heavy at times that the rain would splash up into the ports so we had to close up the boat. Tropical Storm Eta was headed up the coast just off shore and we had a long day and evening of storm conditions.

During the worst of the storm another boater sent us a video clip he took of Monarch dancing in the wind, rain and waves that stirred up the harbor.

I worked on adding shut off switches to the solar panels but other than that mostly we read and watched the internet radar to see the storms progress. I cooked pasta for dinner as Sharon was feeling a little queasy from the boat's motion in the wind. After dinner we watched a golf movie from Disney, The Legend of Bagger Vance. I gave up golf years ago but the movie did make me miss it a little.

Sometime during the night, the rain finally stopped as Eta continued up the coast. Sunny weather is promised to come in for the next week along with cooler temperatures so we will continue headed south tomorrow.
