Bikes and Beach

13 November 2020 | Carolina Beach NC
Mike
November 13, 2020 Friday

We enjoyed a bike ride on the local bike trail and had lunch at the Tiki Bar on the pier overlooking the beach. The ocean was like night and day from the rough turbulent surf we saw all week, now that Tropical Storm Eta had passed it was calm with no chop just long rolling waves coming in. There were a lot more surfers out than earlier in the week as well.

After lunch we rode to the grocery store for some fresh vegetables and then to the beach for a long walk on the shore enjoying the sand under our feet and the surf spreading up the sand chasing the shore birds searching for sand fleas and crabs. The weather was mostly sunny with a warm breeze from the north. We wanted to enjoy the beach before we packed up the bikes and headed south in the morning. We want to find another spot down the ICW that was as relaxing as we found our stay at Carolina Beach.

Sharon made a quiche for dinner and we watched a movie about the old tv show Bewitched while the generator charged the batteries.
