Shrimps at Port Houghton
12 October 2015 | Port Houghton, Inside Passage, Alaska
After spectacularly miserable success with the crab pot we tried our hand at some shrimping. The idea is that you place your baited pot in water that is between 100 and 200 metres deep, leave it there for a few hours and least and then try to find someone willing to manually haul it back up to the surface. Luckily with Todd and I taking turns we managed to do so. Our first attempt leaving the pot in for 3 hours bagged us 33 prawns (shrimp) all the size of king prawns. Over three days we caught about 5.5 kilos. We think we are getting better.
