Time to stop dilly-dallying

25 October 2015 | Foggy Bay, Alaska
We said farewell to Todd in Petersburg as he winged his way back to Juneau and then on to enjoy the spring in Australia.

It had not been particularly warm of late but we knew winter was coming and so it was high time to try and move southwards as quickly as we possibly could.

Though this is not as straighforward as it sounds. I was reading a cruising guide about a particular anchorage we were heading to and the person who wrote the article said that they were very late in the cruising season and that they were well and truly the last boat heading south. They were there in September and were at the same place but two months later in the season ..... so where does that leave us ?
Back to the start - heading southwards as quickly as possible.

We had a hurry up at Foggy Bay, our last anchorage in the US before heading to Canada. It was a clear night and the following morning there was ice on the decks..... the photo at the bottom left shows a stream of fog pouring out of the channel that leads further into the mainland.
