Hut with solar panel

27 September 2018
In the 2009 Solomon Islands Census the main source of lighting in rural communities was kerosene lighting which we have not encountered at all to date. Many huts have a solar panel, a small battery and often only one LED light but it an incredible step forward in their quality of life. One of the problems is nobody knows anything about how to fix them. The big panel in this photo is uncommonly big, generally people only have a 10 or 20 watt panel.
