Moreton Bay

Set off at 10.00am. Decided after the heavy storms that have battered the Queensland coast in recent times, to take the long route around Moreton Island rather than down through the channels to Southport.
Skirted Island around 1.00pm and headed south. Beautiful day with NNE winds and 10 - 15kns. Reached Southport around 7.00pm and sat off coast about 15 miles out. Watched the moon eclipse, drank chardy's and enjoyed the millpond seas. Drifted for about 10 miles and after a restful night of 3 hrs on and 3 hrs off - woke to another beautiful day and light winds.
