Into Coffs

Still no wind!! What is going on, this is not what our fellow yachties have told us!! Smooth seas again and another beautiful day.
Wind picked up after lunch to around 15kns. Making good progress and should reach Coffs Harbour by 3.00pm. A small problem with the switch for the engine. Problem turning it on - and then once on, problem turning it off!!
Arrived at Coffs. What a place, lovely little marina ($35 for night), sleepy little fishing village.
Good to take a walk and get the land legs back. First stop was a cafe for a "cappucino" which went down very well. Shopping centre about 1/2 kms from Marina. Re-provisioned boat.
Met up with a fellow yachtie from St. Kilda Yacht Squadron - he has just returned from Vila and told us some pretty horrific stories about his travels. He is now taking his time to get back to Melbourne. We don't have that luxury and must push off tomorrow.
Coffs is a lovely town - the entrace is graced by Mutton Bird Island which has a walking track on it. The views are spectacular with the breakers crashing at the base of the island and in the distance the occasional sprayof mist from a whale. Would have loved to stay here for a few days and get a chance to mingle with the locals. Unfortunately time is against us.

About: Wife of Wayne - (Kerry not really a good sailor by any stretch of the imagination, but a loyal and always there 1st mate!
Extra: Kerry and I are very frustrated at this stage because our Moody 46 is still berthed at Royal Queensland. We have to organise to sail her back to Melbourne, work commitments and weather patterns govern when we can make the 1000 NM trip.
