OUR LIMO HAS ARRIVED
11 March 2015 | FIVE MILES SOUTH OF KO NAKHA NOI
KEN

Moonbeam has finally been hoisted on the freighter to Turkey. Now I need a vacation.
Sunday. Sail to recommended anchorage near where the freighter will be anchored to get ready for a 7 AM Tuesday lifting. Meet up with friends made during the Indonesian rally that are also planning to ship to the Med.
Monday. The only motorboat in the rally, Southern Star, has volunteered to take the group out to watch the boat loading in preparation for our own experience. We only saw one boat loading due to adverse weather conditions.
Tuesday. Predawn wake up alarm to await call for Moonbeam to up anchor and approach the freighter. Call comes at 4 PM. We are finally in the slings next at 8:30 (sorry, no pics due to nighttime), and then board dinghy for five mile ride back to shore. We are almost at shore, and we get a call to come back. Again, adverse wind conditions, so we have to go back and 'unsling' Moonbeam and take an anchorage near the freighter. 11 PM, finally settled at our own anchorage.
Wednesday. 7 AM call to raise anchor again and approach freighter. All goes well, and by 8:30 AM we are back in the dinghy heading for shore waving goodbye to Moonbeam. NOW YOU ALL KNOW WHY I NEED A VACATION.
