Our buddy James has always had a passion for Greek archeology, so after retiring, he and his wife Jackie moved to Crete where he is living his dream. Several days ago, before we left Crete, (that was during our busy period when I had no time to blog), Ken, Mike and I joined James on a day trip to the Kommos Conservancy, of which he is the co-founder and Executive Director. The Kommos Conservancy is an archeological excavation of remains going back to the Minoan through Hellenistic ages. James is working on creating a site, open to the public, with structures in place to protect and preserve the ruins from the elements. If this interests you, you can access the website at KommosConservancy.org where you can get the whole scoop (and if you have nothing else to do with your tax refund, you can make a donation to help the cause.)
James had an appointment that day with a German gentleman, whose passion is flying his tricopter (think drone). He has been building them for 30 years...early in the drone game. He spent quite a bit of time flying the tricopter, and taking videos of the site. The final video will be uploaded to the website ....stay tuned.
