🎼 WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES 🎼
27 June 2015 | EN ROUTE CORFU TO DUBROVNIK

After a very l-o-o-ng night, Captain Jackie took over the helm the next morning and was visited by dolphins, which made up for the long night (for her, at least, thereby earning her the award for best dolphin-spotter, having been the first to sight them 4 times.) The winds did die down for awhile, and we made some forward progress, but then they would pick up again, big time, without any advance notice. The Captain had a theory that the winds would die down at sunset (we here hopin'), but inexplicably, for the two nights we were at sea, the winds abated around 1 AM, just about the time I had enough of them. It was obvious we would be doing two overnights...and everyone once in awhile I had a nauseating thought that this could turn into three overnights....but it did not.
We had a lovely motoring trip to Cavtat, where we cleared into Croatia. I say 'lovely' because the winds dropped to 25 (on the nose) and...it's all relative. On arrival, Captain Ken did the formalities, while Jackie and I started the clean-up process from the days at sea. (If you've done it, you know what I mean.) Tomorrow, our highly esteemed second mate, Jackie will depart. It's been a blast, and we will miss her...as a friend and accomplished crew member.
Three cheers for the the short-handed Team Moonbeam.
