CHUCK
Well the "Old Guard" arrived aboard Moonbeam three days ago and immediately demonstrated how fragile is that thing called memory. Having sailed together in the first big sail that Ken and Lil made as a couple, and then having followed each year for 13 years of dedicated annual watery events, you would have thought reminiscing would be easy. After all there are four sharp minds to work with here (if we do say so ourselves - perhaps for want of anyone else who would venture such an opinion). Well, not a bit of it! So far after reliving voyages in the far corners of the globe the best we have been able to accomplish is for 2 of the 4 ancient mariners to have some vague recollection of the same event. Most of the time we sound like a bad rendition of "ah yes, I remember it well". In the end maybe this is a good thing. So far we have seen lots of lovely things in Croatia and we don't feel inclined (or perhaps capable) to compare them with old places we have visited. As proof I submit in evidence the lovely anchorage of Prozura. Arrived in time for one (or so) of Lil's perfect home made gin and tonics and then a quick dingy ride to a dockside seafood feast in front of a pretty little restaurant. Only two small downsides one of which can be easily corrected in the future. Turns out Lil has a thing about her fish staring back at her as she eats it. Harder case to correct is three septigenerians trying to clamor back aboard via a jury rigged ladder aided by 2 liters of local wine and a gentle tug from our group's baby, Lil (young she may be but she too can raise her glass like a trooper). Another attempt like that and we may suffer the same fate as Napolean's Old Guard 200 years ago in a Belgian field called Waterloo and this will prove to be my first and only blog.😡
