I don't have much to report but, since some of you like to read the blog with your morning coffee (or so I'm told), I thought I'd share this thought with you....fully aware that some of you will be thinking 'big deal...we've been doing this for years...where's Lil been'. OK, I'm a little slow sometimes.

We're in the town of Korcula on the island of Korcula. We got a mooring in the marina (no dicey docking story today) and then wandered through the old town. Ready for dinner, we found 'restaurant row', a street along the quay with many restaurants, and as usual, each host or hostess inviting us to look at the menu. Like most places, the menus are quite similar, the view is the same, and I'm often convinced there is one central kitchen with pneumatic tubes delivering the food to each place ( ....as in NYC's Chinatown...only kidding).

Anyway, after wandering aimlessly from one place to another, I took out my phone and called up the name of the place we were at on TripAdvisor. BINGO!!! We really got 'Antonio's' attention. He encouraged us to look 'him' up...discussed all the reviews, etc. ok. We bit. We sat down and ordered. I only put the business card above because I need a picture....not because I'm highly recommending it. The food was OK. (I made the fatal mistake of ordering something I make very well..,or at least the way I like it best: pasta Bolognese. It was a little bland and the fresh pasta was like gnocci). The view was the view, but we had Antonio to ourselves. We got outstanding attention and service. We know his whole life story, past, present and future....and an interesting life, it is. He was quite charming and provided entertainment for the evening.

So..what did I learn? Just take out the phone and look the place up on TripAdvisor. It can't hurt...it could only be neutral or it could be to your advantage.
