WHAT IS THIS PLACE CALLED MONTENEGRO?

Yesterday morning, we checked out of Croatia and headed for Montenegro. It was another motoring event in 'dead clam'.
Without guidebooks about Montenegro, I did some research on the Internet and then took pix of the website info with my phone so we could have it available, but even so, I didn't have an image in my mind of what to expect. Five years ago, when we were in Croatia, I remember getting info about a new, state of the art Marina which was being developed in order to attract upmarket tourism...but since then, I hadn't heard anything about it, and frankly, I know very little about this country, other than them being part of the bloody Balkan wars of the 90's.
We tied up to the customs dock, and Captain Ken traipsed off with boat papers and passports to do his Captain thing. He didn't resurface for well over an hour,,,and, one might think we were worried that he had been kidnapped....but, no, we were not. Phil, Leigh and I were too busy getting caught up on email, FB, and the news. This was THE BEST free wifi of the trip. Usually, when we find free wifi in a restaurant or Marina, the signal is weak, and gets worse as each person in the area logs on...and often, we get kicked off. This wifi was every bit as good as home (and better if you use Comcast).
Once the official paper work was completed, we were led to our dock by a very handsome young man in a high-end inflatable. Now...this is service. We docked, with no embarrassment. YAY!
Our first order of business was to plan our time here. We all went to the marina office and met with Novi, a most accommodating 'Senior Yacht Assistant'. Whatever we asked, his answer was 'of course we can do that'. We made arrangements for renting a car for the next day, and Novi enthusiastically gave us great info for possible routes.
Now, it was mid-afternoon, and we weren't going anywhere. We stayed on Moonbeam, and vegged out. (I would say 'chilled' but we did not! Chuck and Jean: if you thought Croatia was hot, you don't know what hot is...and this is coming from me, the Floridian.) So...we waited around, hoping for the heat to abate. Before we even considered going for dinner, we needed showers. They were top notch: All marble floors and walls, two rain shower heads...one 12 inches, one 18 inches in diameter. (Why one needs two is anyone's guess, but since they were there, I used them both.) They would have been more than acceptable for even the owners of the mega-yachts docked here, although I can't imagine those people using the public shower, nice as it is. I would have taken a picture for the blog, but Ken thought it was tacky, particularly after posting a pic of my spice cabinet.
So...off we went in search of a dinner place. With TripAdvisor in hand, we found the perfect place, on the quay, delicious hamburgers and crunchy fries. Yes...we're getting 'fooded out' on Continental meals.
Since I wasn't allowed to post the picture of the shower, here's a view of the Regent Hotel across from the marina. It gives you an idea of the modernity of this town.
