IT KEEPS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER
12 September 2015 | BARCELONA, ESPAÑA
Friday night, with Dave and Becky, we dined at a restaurant high up on Montjuic overlooking the lights of Barcelona. The view couldn't have been better.
Saturday, it was time to do the town. First in our order of priority was Sagrada Familia, the life's work of Antoni Gaudi....and the gift that keeps giving. It is truly a work in progress, as they continue to complete his work. It is more spectacular and awesome than ever. (Hint: Select the time of your visit and book online.....it saves all of that waiting on line stuff from the past.) They do a wonderful job of crowd control. Despite the hordes of people in this ever-popular city...and add on that it was a national holiday (Catalan Day), the church never felt crowded. As I was there admiring the vast beauty, it occurred to me that it was part of the experience having some company here. It could be a very eerie experience to be here all alone.
Back at the ranch (boat), having had a big lunch, we opted for a light, typical Spanish dinner on board: melon wrapped in prosciutto (and, by luck, the melon we bought last week was perfect) and Captain Ken's leftover pasta bolognese (well...it was made in Spain, so that sort of makes it Spanish). It was every bit as good as any meal we could have eaten out.
