IT'S A SMALL WORLD

Back in June, while we were cruising the Greek islands with James, Jackie, and the two Mikes, we met Jesus and Dorrie, a couple from Madrid, who were sailing their boat around Greece. The first time we met up with them was in Folegandros Bay, where they were docked across from us. You may remember a reference to them (in a blog from then) as 'our saviors' because for a week or so after that, each time we were pulling into a new marina (Mangaraki Bay, Naxos, etc), as if by miracle, they appeared on the dock to help us find an appropriate spot or help us tie up....even though neither they nor we knew in advance where we each would be and when. Those were the days of big winds, and Med style docking was relatively new for us; we were most appreciative of their help. We shared quite a few meals and good times with them, Eventually, we parted company; they were heading south and we were going north. That said, any time after, when confronted with a potentially tricky docking situation, we always joked, "where are Jesus and Dorrie when we need them"?
We've stayed in touch. They left their boat on a Greek island in the Adriatic, and we continued west in the Med until now, where we've settled in Benalmádena, Spain. A few days ago, they emailed us to let us know that they would be attending a wedding in Morocco this weekend, and would be leaving from Malaga, a town right near us. Perfect! They met up with us yesterday, and once again, we enjoyed a lovely meal together.
And then, to continue the 'small world' theme, Dorrie has a brother who leaves in Ft Myers (just up the road from Marco Island) they and will be visiting him...and us in January!!!
It is ironic. While we have much boat work to do here in Benalmádena, I was wondering what else we would do here for three weeks. It is turning out that we are having quite a busy social life.
