DOWNHILL SLEIGH RIDE

ROB
Yeah...Jens, Rob and Bob have the spinnaker flying. The spinnaker is a beautiful sail that is fun to fly, and gives you great speed if the wind is astern. It always provides a Kodak moment and smiles for the crew. Moonbeam carries a gennaker, which is similar to a spinnaker, but an easier sail to handle; however, the distinction between the sails is a bit esoteric for the blog. Actually, the wind wasn't really off our stern, but boys will be boys. We altered course about 25 degrees off our rhumb line just so we could carry the spinnaker. We have been motoring quite a bit since leaving Malaga. With the spinnaker flying, we stopped the engine. The silence was deafening...just listening to the wind and the waves lapping against the hull. For those of you who always ask: no, we haven't caught a damn fish yet.
