Friday night we picked up Deb and Brian and headed for shore for Happy Hour at Sorrentos Bar to have a drink with Jen and John. The photographer seems to be a bit slack lately not much in the way of inspiring pictures to use.
Saturday morning started with "Those deaded words again. Its not far to the markets lets walk" I do not know if its just me getting older and forgetfull or early on set of a more serious problem but I agreed (go figure).
So it started
WALKING !
WALKING !
WALKING !
Are we there yet
WALKING !
We passed a picturesque spot on the way.
But it does not make up for the walking. We eventually arrived at the open air market, it is a wonderful place if you fancy an Organic Kale and shrubbery smoothie or a vegan option hamburger whatever that is. The chance to pick up some tacky exotic handicraft things made in an exotic, cheap labor country imported to Oz and now priced accordingly (not).
Did see farm gate bacon advertised at $34/kg what a bargain, may account for people moving to a non-bacon eating religions. I am probably being a tad harsh, there was some local arts and crafts for sale, if you are into that sort of thing. After my half marathon hike to get there I was not in the mood. Then I still had to get back, at least that involved a stop for a good coffee and eggs and bacon on toast on the way.
Back on the boat a report on the emergency channel on the radio alerted us to a boat fire.
Turned out to be a 11 meter power boat going up in flames two people where rescued safely.
Saturday night we picked up Audra and Steve and headed for shore for a meal with Jen and John a good time was had by all. The photographer seems to be a bit slack lately not much in the way of inspiring pictures to use.
Theses guys require a special mention, the other day they had the dreaded blocked joker valve and toilet pipe. Will cut to the chase after some considerable effort, Steve had a 1.5 meter section of pipe completely blocked (with who knows what)
and unable to be moved to clean. Stuck in the wall cavity of the bathroom aboard.
Part one of the cunning plan: Fashion a plumbers pipe reamer out of some 3 mm stainless wire and use an electric drill to rotate it inside the blocked pipe.
Part two of the cunning plan: attach a plastic bag to catch the you know what that will hopefully come out the other end once unblocked.
So Steve is at the top of the pipe drilling away.
Audra is at the bottom watching the catch bag for signs of success. The reamer eventually pushed through the blockage into the catch bag and immediately snagged it and started to flay it around. Mean while Audra attempted in vain to stop the contents of the now split bag emptying into the bilge.
Hopefully I have the story some what correct, but I was laughing uncontrollably when they recounted the story, but I am sure you get the general idea.
