Saturday morning was a flurry of activity, Rick on Arkayades decided to Push on to Pearl Bay at 0700 so after a quick call to Bluglass and deciding we did not need another rolly night in the Keppels, we upped anchor at 0800 and Bluglass departed from the Roslyn Bay marina at 0830 and we where all headed North together, all be it strung out over a good 12 mile.
A radio call warned us of Military Operations off Point manifold and to keep clear of any and all craft by 1000 yards. We viewed a lot of helicopter traffic heading in to the coast from HMAS Canberra then headed up the coast and then back out to sea to re join the ship.
Rick arrived at Pearl Bay at 1400 us half hour behind and Bluglasss another hour later.
We had a meal courtesy of Rick and a fine bowl of Chili he makes, that I can attest to.
Rick is now on a mission to get to Airlie as quickly as he can as he now has a funeral to attend in WA at the end of the week, so we waved farewell for now. We decided that Pearl Bay was still rolly, so we headed up into Island head creek to hide for a couple of days.
The spectacular coast line as we made our way to the Island at the head of the creek. Hence "Island Head Creek"
On the way in Alan and Sue from Africat joined the convoy. We sailed 14 miles to get just 4.8 miles from where we started, but it is flat and calm so a good spot to hide for a while. Allowing the 25knots to blow itself out.
Sundowner drinks aboard Bluglass last and a very calm anchorage for last nights best sleep since Pancake creek.
