Getting started

Getting started on building a Beth Sailing Canoe, Slow going, doing it by hand, no power tools, minus sanding. Got bottom and sides cut out, need to get the top cut and will be ready to start putting it together.

warm for now

sailed a Hobie cat for past four daze. fun but like the single hull better, not sure why, but coming down wind, tends to burry the front of the hulls. went scuba diving, saw my first shark, 8 ft nurse, in open water... was at the bottom, 70 ft down, in a cave, glad for that.. heading to mo-town on Saturday. wet dog daze of summer

dale and I went out on a great summer sail today. dale was at the bow when we hit a gust of wind hit out starboard, she overcompensated and was her first time overboard!

Dry for the most part

Dry for the most part started very wet. The cockpit was half full with water at the start. Started tacking upwind and then the water drained out of the self-bailing hole. By the time I made my turn for home it was dry, minus the sweat from my bottle of Ice water. Good sail.

Dale has her new Small dog life jacket... She is excited to wear it...not. We will see if a Puggle can swim in a life jacket.

I jumped into the water because I did not see her surface, grabbed the boat and slowed it down enough to find her doggy styling just to the right of me.
lifted her up in the boat and away we went.
