San Andres Island, Colombia - December 2007

01 January 2008 | San Andres
Jeremy
After the 215 mile passage from Isla Linton, Panama, in company with Hula, we spent the month of December in San Andres. It is a beautiful island, very much a holiday resort with mostly central american tourists plus a few Canadians.
We have been tied up at Nenes Marina and have explored the island (9 miles long and 3 miles wide) by bike, golf cart and walking. We also spent a couple of nights in a very nice hotel near the marina. And of cours done lots of shopping - it is a duty free island. We spent a very enjoyable Christmas with Richard and Val from Hula - Christmas Eve dinner and dance at the hotel and Christmas day dinner on Hula. We were joined by Jim and Sharon on Pelican's Flight for New Year and we went out to a very nice restaurant for Dinner, dancing and of course champagne.
We are now waiting for a weather window to make the passage either to Providencia (another Colombian island) or to Guanaja the first of the Honduras Bay Islands via Cayo Vivorilla.
