Life happens.
I can't believe it has been over a month since our departure from Semiahmoo Marina on August 22nd. It feels as though we have always lived aboard, schooled the children, and played endless games of Uno (the coveted - at least by my kids - Simpson's version thanks to the Langfords) and Scrabble as a family...now a nightly ritual.
Today (Friday Sept 25th) we had a half day of school, just because it was a Friday (oh yeah, and Andrew and I were dying for a real latte at the yummy bread shop we spied the other day!)...so off we went, boys on scooters, us on foot. Found a fabulous second hand book store where we spent some of the gift money the kids received from Aunt Nancy and Uncle Nick on Calvin & Hobbes comics that we didn't have, Andrew picked up a cool nautical atlas and for myself, a novel. Headed to the yummy bread shop where we indulged in the "best ever" cinnamon rolls and lattes one has ever had.
We have been invited to a California sunset BBQ at Del Mar beach tomorrow with Sheila and David and family - yippee! Boys are excited that we will be having a sleep over at their place, and I am excited that I will be in a real bed, and may even soak in a bath, and do laundry in a real laundry room (not at the Canon Street Laundromat).
And so, life happens...
