Bummer

16 July 2010 | Bora Bora Yacht Club
Andrew
Bastille Day was a real hoot. Jessica, the proprietor of the BBYC asked us to put together a float for the parade, so we seconded Oso Blanco's sailing dingy, rigged it on a dubious trailer, and set off. Eric (of Oso) was dressed as King Neptune ('cos it was also his 60th B-day) and all other cruisers in the bay were dressed as pirates. No-one watched the parade as it seemed every living soul was participating, except the dignatories - and they humoured us by making speeches in two languages we didn't understand too well.
The evening saw a major party at the BBYC to celebrate Eric's B-day - they even ran out of beer.
The bummer of the title refers to the fact that Mulan was boarded and our laptop stolen, along with it most of our photos, and all videos. Friends have rallied around to burn CDs of photos for us, and we should be able to download the ones we've posted to picassa web, but it is certainly a bad way to end the trip. We've posted notices offering a major reward, but so far no takers.
Mulan leaves tomorrow Saturday 17 for the potentially gnarly trip to Hawaii. Susan & boys fly home the 20th.
Cheers, Team Mulan
