Andrew
After 9 straight days of going to windward, we finally have been able to ease onto a reach. It's almost smooth - although we still have 20kts and 3m seas. We are making great progress, with SE trades at 5 N (wish we'd had them since BB!). The ITCZ is the next hurdle, but it is around 8N, so we may have another day of good wind first. Were passed by our buddy boat, Capaz, at dawn. We left from very different islands, so it was cool to pass within 5 miles of each other after 1400 miles of sailing. Lashed out today and baked bread. Turned out OK despite the heaving & pitching galley. Did muffins (from scratch) yesterday, so we are not starving. Also managed to slosh boiling water on my hand making coffee today - the hardships of getting a good cup of joe on the high seas! Crew are well ( and well fed.... so far). Cheers, Team Mulan
