Yesterday was the prototypic perfect day offshore. Blue sky, light breeze, blue violet water and gentle swell. Temp comfortable. Appreciated greatly! Ate tuna sushi and sashimi first night and last night had seared tuna steaks with soy ginger wasabi sauce. Tried making bread. Yeast goes absolutely berserk in this climate but with boat movement and stove design, result was ciabatta like. For those following fishing news, have rigged a deep swimming plug to try to catch a wahoo, a fish which lives up to its name in sport and table.

Here is profile #2

Rodger is recently retired from the Sonoma County Sheriff's office having spent time as a patrol officer, narcotics division officer doing drug suppression in the schools, property crimes detective, homicide detective, SWAT team officer, field training officer, firearms instructor, defensive tactics instructor, and he ran the helicopter, search and rescue, marine, and motorcycle units, ran internal affairs division, and retired as public information officer and overseer for the department. Robb Scott's brother Bart who was in the DA's office offered this advice, "Don't f#*k with Roger!!" This came as a total surprise to me as Roger's only fault as far as I can tell is an upbeat personality and unbridled optimism with good cheer even in the face of our 3rd or 4th diesel adventure, which would have put him at risk for a pummeling if not for all the above curriculum vitae. Although we are not in pirate infested waters, I do feel better having Roger aboard. In addition he is extraordinarily handy and detail oriented. One great example was Roger's task to set up the external fuel transfer pump system in the "unlikely" chance that we would need to use it. He drew schematics, collected all the requisite components in Hong Kong, color coordinated and labeled lines and connections, calculated power needs and produced a detailed multicolored user manual. I must admit I was impressed but wondered if all the effort and detail orientation were necessary until weeks later when we needed to emergently pump fuel out of our leaking full tanks, the system was ready to operate, easy to find and assemble and worked flawlessly. Can't argue with that. Other examples available upon request! Roger is also our multimedia expert and is taking video and stills from above to below the water. He is editing underway and for those who may be subjected to viewing, he warns that it may be a bit heavy on sunsets.
