Updates
The last 3 blogs were posted after the fact as the sailblogs website was down. I posted them on facebook and was just able to repost here. Georgetown, SC
We arrived in Georgetown SC today around lunchtime. The scenery here along Winyah Bay is stunning, though we haven’t adjusted to the water color in the states yet. It seems so murky compared to the Bahamas and Caribbean.

Getting older
Now that we are back in the US, one of the girls' favorite thing to do is call and talk to friends. Being away from friends has been one of the hardest part of this trip for them.
crossing over
We left Norfolk at 4am on Sunday, Nov 14th. The first few days were amazing. The gulf stream was almost not noticeable There was no wind, which was a bummer.

On Tuesday afternoon, the seas began to build and the kids and I were seasick. The first storm caught us a bit by surprise. We were expecting winds of 20 - 25 kn with gusts to 35. We got sustained winds of 35 kn with gusts up to 40 - 50 kn. We put a crack in the stayboom and couldn't use the staysail. !
Bob and Albert took turns at the helm. We forgot our course at thois point and the focus was on keeping tbe boat safe. They alternated every hour or so for the whole 18 hours. - was hiddled on the floor on the cabin, sharing a vomit bag with the kids.
The storm had passed by Wed night. I was able to take shifts at the helm again and the girls ate dinner in the cockpit. But the next storm was hanging over our heads.
