AM - A terrific gale of wind it being the heaviest we have experienced since leaving England. Our gallant little boat rides the mountains of sea remarkably well - not shipping any water whatever. I am confident that she is making better weather at present than a great many ships would if here.
0400hrs - Heavy gales of wind.
0800hrs - More moderate - hauled the raft on board. Made sail, set reef 2nd mizzen forward.
Noon - Very strong weather. Lat. by obs. 401.00 South, longitude by chart 131.00.
Midnight - Very strong weather with all prudent sail set.
