Foggy passage into Mexican waters
30 September 2010

On our way at 6am, we were keeping a close eye out for a Warship that was heading into the bay, all of a sudden it appeared out of the fog....what a sight!
The skies cleared as we headed into Mexican waters but it was short lived as a thick blanket of fog appeared. Oh, I can't forget to mention we saw more dolphins, this time there must have been 40 or more and again they played in the bow wake, what a picture:) As we got closer to Ensenada we could see large storm cells on the radar and shortly after we had a thunder clap..., K and L saw me almost jump out of my skin. Soon after there was a lightening strike pretty close to the boat. We had already discussed our plan should things get worse, we quickly headed to the nearest marina, Marina Coral, the chart plotter indicated Ensenada was another 3 Kn miles..too far under these conditions. Out came the foul weather gear as the rain had increased to a torential downpour! What happened?....we expected sunny skies in Mexico??
We tied up and waited until the rain stopped before registering....L registed, $70 for the night, we were shocked at how expensive this marina was.
Ken and L now needed to get down to business and fix a plugged drain, that is a story in inself!
