We have accomplished a lot for our first week on the hard even though the weather did not cooperate the beginning of the week. We had minus 6/7 and with the wind chill around minus 17..brrrr! Mark had a hard time getting the old prop off as it was frozen..but determination took hold and off it came. The variprop looks absolutely awesome. Sarah worked on the dripless seal so that we will no longer have a wet bilge...hooray! We also decided to put in the throughhull ready for the watermaker that we will eventually install...next year?? So as you can tell, things are coming along. Ken and Carole spent the weekend sanding the bottom ready for its new coat of bottom paint, first off we were dry sanding...that was not nice, so we switched to wet sanding....much better on the nose and throat and even the clothes. We looked like one of those chimney sweeps when we were dry sanding...all we could do is laugh at one another!! Thanks to L & B for helping us lift the arch onto the boat! Next week we will deal with the new arch for the solar panels and the riging work, oh and of course put on the bottom paint if the weather cooperates....
