Venice Beach, Marina Del Rey

Marina Del Rey is a very large marina with 4600 boats and fairly close to the LA airport. As we entered the harbour we noticed “Firestone’s” large sailboat, we had previously seen it at Sausalito anchored near us. It is a huge boat!
It was great to see Russ and Doreen, the last time we saw them was at the leaver’s rendezvous. We had a great visit that evening and joined them for dinner. On Tuesday Sept 20th we headed off with Russ and Doreen to West Marine, they were picking up their newly purchased folding bikes, now we are in business. Once we got back to the boat we pulled out our bikes and all of us headed over the famous Venice beach, long white sandy beaches, lifeguard towers and stores. In amongst the stores were little outlets that advertised “medicinal marijuana”, there were lots of them, not quite sure how all that works as I thought it was totally illegal in the US. Russ and Doreen took a picture, I will try to get a copy from them. Today we leave for Catalina Island with Russ and Doreen.
