Once we had our national zarpe in hand we were free to continue south. We stopped at Brasilito for the first night and then onto Bahia Samara where we would spend New Years Eve.
On the way to Brasilito, we had a wind gust all of a sudden of 40 knots, wish the wind indicator would work agian! We had a hard time getting the foresail reefed, the main already had a reef in it, but the foresail got stuck and before we could get it back in some of the stitching came apart on the UV covering, actually a lot of the sticking came apart on the UV covering. Carole spent the next 2 or 3 days fixing the foresail, the sewing maching was out and she also had a lot of handstitching to do. Finally, she could use the knowledge she learned from the sail repair course she took at Port Townsend Sails with Carol Hasse. It looks good once more. A big thank you also to our friend Doreen for loaning us her sewing maching that has a walking foot!
Both were very nice Anchorages. Bahia Samara put on a spectacular fire works display, it lasted for at least 20 mins and they were going off continually. We enjoyed New Years dinner on The Beverly J, again we had a turkey dinner with all of the fixing and of course Champagne.
