Golfito

We left Golfito just after 7am on Jan 23rd, on the way out of the estuary, we were greeted by a tall ship called "Star Flyer" and another large Power Boat called Pacific, Pacific was huge, 280 ft long. We have seen a lot of tall ships that operate as a cruise ship along the Costa Rican coastline, must be very popular here. We have really enjoyed ourselves in Costa Rica and definitely would come back again in the future.
We still have some diagnosing to on the inverter/watermaker to find out why the watermaker kicks the breaker. It is OK as we can use the generator to run the watermaker ... so all is good.
Once we were out along the coast it was time to send some emails via the HAM radio to family so that they can contact us if needed. Next it was time to do laundry which is now hanging out on the rails drying, should be done once we get to our destination. We are heading to an anchorage in Punta Balsa and then on to Isla Parida the next day.
While we were at the marina in Golfito, we had a fellow wash, wax and do the stainless on the boat, he was a little slow but did get the job finished, it was an OK job. Today Ken is cleaning the lifelines, they come really clean with Bar Keepers Friend, a must onboard. It has been so hot and humid we have not felt like doing this so far. Now that we have a base line to start from, we will do a bit of cleaning a day and should be able to keep the boat looking good. Today we had dolphins dancing in our bow wake, we have not seen any of these for a while, in fact we have not seen much sea life in a while.
When we arrived at Punta Balsa, Chasing the Sun was in the anchorage and we all had dinner on August Moon, mmmm good! Doreen had made a hamburger soup which is kind of like a borscht. The anchorage was rolly once in a while overnight but not too bad. #
