Chichime & Portobello
13 March 2013
Carole
We left EAst Lemmons and head for Chichime for an overnight and then onto Portobello, this would be our last stop before heading back to Shelter Bay Marina.
We had a fantastic sail all the way up to Portobello, the seas were about 6 - 8 ft and the winds anywhere from 15 - 20 knots on the beam, the boat was flying, our fastest speed was 9.18 knots.
Portobello is a great little anchorage, lots of boats and very calm. The anchorage is surrounded by 2 forts, so there is a lot of history here. We went into town to get some groceries and were a little disappointed with the town as there was garbage everywhere. We heard that cruisers had bought garbage bins for them and the next day they were stolen, likely sold by whoever stole them.
We a heading back to Shelter Bay on the 13th as we want to meet up with some friends whom we have not seen since we left Bahia del Sol.
