Two issues resolved, two issues develop……

After escaping the marina yard, we have now been working with Mick, the English engineer, who resides in Yasmine marina (sort of a McGyver type sailor). He checked over Dean’s workmanship repairing the corroded starter wires and also re-enacted a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean as he swung from mast to forestay in order to repair the “kink” in the forestay caused from the travel lift. The 2 new issues involve the disabled fridge due to the compressor overheating which we think can be resolved tomorrow when a Tunisian fellow is suppose to arrive and add gas to the compressor. The second issue was a leaky shaft seal, which Mick has also repaired efficiently (the instructions say this cannot be done in the water). If you are keeping track, you will have noted that every mechanical issue that Adel and yard “repaired”(and were paid handsomely for) has resulted in a problem. Note to future visitors to Tunisia……they are great for painting…not so good with boat repairs. Heat was oppressive today but the main sail is dressed and the bimini is now providing some much appreciated shade. Have enjoyed some great fish meals and thirst quenching malt beverages.
