Paxos

What an awesome stopover! The real Greece. Very small island with an incredibly narrow channel leading to a quaint village with friendly people and sheep. All the olive oil produced on Paxos is purchased by Harrod’s in London.
Arose early and departed Corfu, sailing close aboard the old Venetian fortress on the point.
Making our way south to the Gulf of Patras would require an overnight sail or a stop at Paxos. Thankfully we choose this option. But would Necessity fit through the exceedingly narrow cut leading to the very small island village of Gaios?
The village was so quiet that we were able to dock alongside in about 9 feet of water (we draw 6) avoiding the Med Moor procedure that involves the anchor. Yea!
Dinner ashore, strolling the narrow alleys and catching up on family and friends using Skype on the free WiFi in the town square (quaint village but connected all the same).
Temperatures continue around 20 C, sunning and light winds. Drops down to 12-14 C at night (much better than the 30-35 C in Tunisia and Malta!)
