BVI & USVI

Crew, Olga, Joe and Majed have never been to the BVI's, truly virgins all. Have not even experienced painkillers or bushwhackers. Happy to report this has all changed. Snorkeling at the Indians & the caves off Norman, hiking to The Baths and swinging on their hook at Cane Garden Bay has gradually taken away their virtue in waves of ecstasy!
What would be the highlight of our 170 nm cruise through the British and US Virgin islands? So many to choose from. Certainly the visit to Buster the Beer Drinking Pig deep in the rainforest of St. Croix would top most of our lists, along with the great sail down to the USVI island of St. Croix. Ripping along at 7-8 knots over the 45 nm course was exhilarating with Olga at the helm for most of it.
Or taking Majed to the airport at Charlotte Amalie on the USVI island of St. Thomas. Cleared out of the BVI’s at Jost van Dyke, sail on down to Cruz Bay, St. John’s to clear into the USVI, anchor in the bay just off the airport, dinghy ashore in the morning and walk about 200 meters to the check-in counter. Too Cool!
All this being possible because we are sailing with the Admiral. Frank has 25 years experience in these magical cruising grounds. The fun meter was in the red zone most of time.
