The Gulet Returns

25 October 2012
Brian

Saturday October 20, 2012
A quiet day at anchor with the biggest project being how best to prevent the sun from superheating the cockpit. Penny spent the morning swimming and sketching goats and mountains. She has become quite an accomplished artist. About 3PM it appeared that due to a wind shift, our stern anchor had pulled out and we decided to hoist it aboard. The shore here, like many places is steep enough that by the time we are in water we would normally find comfortable to anchor, we are too close to shore to swing. As we were contemplating our strategy another gullet arrived, invading the peace of our little bay. Outgunned, we headed closer to the town and found a more open anchorage we could live with. Dinner was in the cockpit and enjoyed by all.
