We got a Taksi (Turkish spelling) to Dalaman airport (1 hr 10 min) and arrived soon enough to catch an earlier flight to Istanbul arriving about 1:30PM. We were in and out of Dalaman airport inside of 30 minutes! Had to wait till 3 for the hotel shuttle then went to a mall and did a bit of shopping. Will have a quiet night and one more Turkish dinner before stepping back into the mainstream of Canadian life. We thoroughly enjoyed Turkey – the people, the scenery, the food, the history and the geography. We traveled about 2000 km on land in 12 days and 261 nautical miles at sea in 15 days aboard. It is the first time we have seen a country so connected to the sea they have created a whole industry to show travelers their fantastic coastline. Nowhere is the water more accessible than here. The Taurus mountains along the Mediterranean shore are more dramatic than anything we have seen in Europe and the water quality is excellent and the warmest we have had (26C). We have felt very safe and the Turkish people have gone out of their way to help and to make us feel welcome.
Best natural scenery – Cappadoccia
Best Ancient site – Ephesus
Best Anchorage – Bozburun
Best Dock – Bouganvil Yacht Club (also best showers

Another great adventure ends. Stay tuned for Rhodes and Crete in 2013
