Looking for Necessity

On August 26, 2013 the Dawes left beautiful Bayfield with the objective of finding the fine vessel "Necessity" and creating the next adventure
We landed in Brussels Belgium on August 27 - NO "Necessity" so we toured the city on the hop on hop off bus in case she was tucked away in an obscure spot...not to be found
Bus tours the next two days took us to Ghent and Brugge Belgium and Amsterdam Netherlands. Even with an extensive search of the red light district of Amsterdam - NO "Necessity". Canal boat tours failed to uncover the location of "Necessity"
We then remembered "Necessity" was in Greece so we needed to get to the right country at least. We thoroughly enjoyed the sightseeing in Belgium and Netherlands but it was time to find "Necessity"
The Greek island of Rhodes was our next destination and a look around the marina at Rhodes Town we did not uncover the location of "Necessity". This caused us to take a boat tour to the island of Symi but still -NO "Necessity"....only a monastery and a quaint village with an incredible anchorage too
As captain Dean is a history buff we ventured to Lindos to the fortress but the fine vessel "Necessity" eluded us once again
Once again our memory was jolted and we remembered "Necessity" was on the Greek island of Crete so we needed to fly there. A tour of Heraklion did not uncover the yacht but a drive to Aghios Nikolaos on the island of Crete gave a reason to smile...There she was..."Necessity " waiting for us ....out of the water in the dry dock yard and a little dusty and dirty but ready to have us aboard and take on another adventure
Let the adventure begin! We are aboard "Necessity" finally with captain Dean and crew!
