Kritsi & Lato

Dean, on board Necessity in Aghios Nicholaos Crete, Bay of Mirabello
Kristsi is billed as the quintessential Cretan village. It is located a short drive from our comfortable marina of Aghios Nicholaos and close aboard an ancient Greek mountain-top ruin of Lato (5th century BC, Dorian). Nicely situated between two steep valleys one of which affords an excellent view down to our large Bay of Mirabello (named by the Turks).
Had a wonderful lunch in the town square of Kritsi followed by some shopping. Linens and other hand woven or knitted items are for sale here. No purchases by the crew however they did discover a roof top bar with ice cream and a great view.
The weather has been so worm 30-33 C dropping down nicely at night for sleeping. Necessity is well berthed in a protected cove and safe to leave for our upcoming trip to Santorini by high speed ferry.
