Back to Casale

Monday April 7, 2014
We were up early and ready to leave for the Roman mosaics at Casale in good time. The drive, as usual took longer than expected as we chose the rural routes which are full of twists and turns. To add to the suspense, Brian neglected to fill up wit fuel before leaving so we were on fumes when we arrived at the Roman Hunting Lodge of Casale. We stopped for lunch at the same Trattoria we had used last week and had another lovely meal with rabbit, lamb and sausage being the features. Then Jim and Jackie explored the mosaics while Brian & Irene caught up on the blog entries. The trip back was much shorter using the main highway and allowed Jim & Brian time to traipse through a muddy wheat field to investigate two WWII pillboxes. Back at the marina the ladies went grocery shopping while the guys checked out a chap building boat models. After dinner on board and another euchre game bed wasn’t long coming.
