S/V NELLEKE

The ship's blog for SV Nelleke out of Shelburne, NS

Anchored at Price Creek!

Ok! Ok! I know! We were supposed to be going outside, but when we started to move towards Charleston this morning the winds that had been forecast for SE, S, and SW were all N and NNE or right on the nose. With the engine so sensitive to RPM I didn't want to force the issue with an offshore motor. If we were going to be motoring we may as well be on the ICW where we can stop if we have to and let it cool down. So, final decision point was Charleston Harbour and we went for the inside route. Of course we had only just cleared Ben Sawyer Bridge and the winds started to function as forecast. Grrrr! Oh well.

We passed a tug hauling some dredge equipment that had to be over 1000 feet long and proceeded in gorgeous weather and made this spot at about 17h00. Tomorrow we'll head for Georgetown and the next day to Little River and the day after that Carolina Beach. Not exactly as planned but wae are getting there.
