At last! Warm weather!

Of course it was just in time to coincide with our purchase of the new heater for our cabin and the hose to replace the perished one from the tank to the heater. Isn't that just typical?
Today we toddled off to the Jamestown Settlement, not to be confused with Historic Jamestowne which is ½ mile down the road. The difference is that the Settlement is state run and the other is federal, plus the state is a reconstruction whereas Historic Jamestown is the actual archaeological dig site. Strangely enough they compliment each other very well. I was very impressed with the museum and the re-enactment sites and both unfortunately have your typical tacky gift shops with genuine souvenirs Made in China for you to take home as a memento. As normal we took loads of photos which will soon be in the Photo Gallery on this site. Barb's left knee chose this particular day and moment to act up so on the way home we made a side trip into a drug store so we could get her a knee brace. Most guys buy their wives flowers, yours truly buys medical paraphernalia. Ain't I just the old romantic? I could buy both but we are running out of money so it was one or t'other and I chose lack of pain.
Right beside the drug store was a Fresh Market grocery store so we bought some ready to cook kebobs for dinner on the Q tonight. These are great places to shop for really attractive produce but holy ol' moley the price tag is commensurate! By that I mean high! This will be in lieu of our dinner out this week, I can tell you.
We got back to Nelleke in time for Barb to get her shipment from Sailrite so her knee was forgotten while we scurried about to get the grommets added to the splash cloths and ready for installation. They look great and Barb has done herself proud. I even helped out with helping her install the grommets swinging the hammer and for the most part avoiding mashing my fingers. (Barb says - One is up but I have to wait to put up the port side one until Mike has finished with installing the hawsepipe for the aft anchor)
As I write this I am trying to screw up the courage to go for a dip in the marina pool. A beautiful well cared for pool, but unheated. I am hoping that it will have warmed up enough over today and yesterday that I won't be squealing like a little piggy as soon as I stick my toe in. (We spent more time trying to get in rather than actually swimming - sucks to get old)
Late breaking news.....we went in, chilly water and all. It wasn't too, too bad and in fact the pool is a Lido - ie salt water!
