Starting to getback in the swing of things

Over the last couple of days we have been getting dirt based life back in order. Interesting how everything adapts, isn't it? So far we have three different and distinct lifestyles - dirt based, boat based and on-the-road, and each has its attractions, although I must say that I am very much missing being on the boat. When I was still in the army I was quite used to putting Nelleke up for the winter and visiting her occasionally, but now with her 200 kilometers away and am feeling quite the pang of separation.
I spent the day in the storage crawl space putting insulation on the one small section of wall in the house that is not, as yet insulated. Fortunately, although an uncomfortable crawl, it is readily accessible and insulating is a simple matter of putting up some R12 fiberglass batting and holding it in place with some wood strapping. This is the first of the tasks on the list of to dos before I start my new job on Monday and have my available time severely curtailed.
Our old dentist in Halifax is retiring so we have also added another plank in our move to Shelburne with the addition of a dentist to our speed dial. I had the dental inventory done yesterday and I will be going in on Thursday for a filling replacement. Thank heavens I have the retired forces dental plan to pay for most of it. First time that I have a female dentist. She seems a lot more gentle when she is poking around in there. I assume that might have something to do with the gender thing.
The MoHo is back in the garage getting a couple more things done and tiddlied up before we put her away for the winter. We have a plan to head out for Colorado in the summer to visit our friends from Screech and obviously the more issues that we can shake out and fix before we head out, the better.
In her post, Barb mentioned Visalis, this new health craze that we are on. For those of you who don't know anything about it, and I was one, essentially it is a fruit milkshake with some magic powder added that is supposed to make you fit, loose weight, and feel better. It replaces breakfast and I gotta admit that it does seem to give you energy, but I am at a loss to determine if there is anything in the powder that does it or if it is the helping of fruit and the lack of the normal breakfast grease that is making the difference. Barb and our daughter think that it's wonderful and I don't mind a fruit milkshake for breakfast so this is one of those times that it is better to go with the flow, I think. Who knows. I might even shed some blubber as well.
