S/V NELLEKE

The ship's blog for SV Nelleke out of Shelburne, NS

Short Day Today.....

....and I am the only one here, so I will compose this post which will probably be my last until after Christmas.

Merry Christmas to all!

E-mailing Christmas wishes always used to seem like such a cop out and blogging them even more so, but that is in the past, at least for me. Now the social media is a perfectly acceptable means to communicate with friends and acquaintances. I will add a couple of recipies for Turney grog to make it a little more paletable:

LONDON FOG

Mix in a blender equal parts of vodka, 7up or Sprite (any un-cola), and ice cream. Blend until smooth. Serve.

NELLEKE'S WASSIL BOWL

In a large stovetop pan combine:
1 gal hard cider
1 cup brandy
1 shot cointreau
1/2 cup brown sugar
juice of 1 lemon
juice of 1 orange
1 lemon thinly sliced
1 orange thinly sliced
1 whole orange studded with 24 cloves
2-3 cinnamon sticks
Warm to simmering ppoint but not to boil and stir until sugar disolves. Keep warm while serving. Serve. Drink. Make more.

Both these are deceptively dangerous. Just the thing for holiday Ho Hos

MERRY CHRISTMAS
